The Transam Euro ready to set sparks flying at the 24 hours of Zolder!

As announced several weeks ago this coming weekend a Transam Euro TA2 will be competing in the Eleven Sports 24 Hours of Zolder, the traditional major event of the Belcar Endurance Championship in Belgium!

Under the leadership of Jerry De Weerdt’s Braxx Racing, this muscle car of American origin is entered in the highly competitive Belcar 1 category. The car will be manned by Marc Goossens, Pierre-Yves Rosoux, Sven Van Laere, Kris Van Kelst and Johan Caldries.

This participation at the 24 Hours of Zolder is a logical continuation in the development of the endurance kit of the Transam Euro, Lucie Storez-Gueudry, CEO of Transam Euro explained. Together with our partner Braxx Racing, the objective is to follow up the car’s evolution when it comes to endurance races, and to prove its potential. As such the project is on course …

Up against the Porsche Cup machines sharpened for such a specific event as the 24 Hours of Zolder, the impressive American machine taking on a Chevrolet Camaro look could well surprise more than one in the Belcar 1 category. “I have already carried out two test days in Spain, and on the 2nd August we were at Zolder with Braxx Racing. The car ran from 9 in the morning through to 17.00hrs without experiencing the slightest major problem, Pierre-Yves Rosoux, the man in charge of Public Relations commented. Yet we all know that the key to endurance is reliability. Taking into account the category the Transam Euro has been slotted into for this event, we will be heading for the Limburg with a view to focussing on the development work, but in the back of my mind I have a good feeling regarding the potential of such a car in a 24 hours event. The excellence of the work put in by Braxx Racing should surprise more than one. With Marc Goossens and the others drivers we are looking forward to letting her rip and reveal how attractive this product can be on the European market …”

Proof of the curiosity stirred up by the Transam Euro, the team entered for Zolder is pleasantly varied. “Apart from Marc Goossens and Pierre-Yves Rosoux, the ’in-house’ drivers, we are delighted to welcome Sven Van Laere, who boasts an excellent reputation in this type of event, Kris Van Kelst and Johan Caldries, Lucie Storez-Gueudry continued. The perfect type of varied team we were wanting. Through its look and roar I know that the Transam Euro will leave quite an impression at Zolder. The fruits of the collaboration with Braxx Racing will show that over long distances the car has evolved quickly, which quite clearly is not only encouraging – but essential – for the future development of the company.

Time to head off for the Zolder the pine woods for the 24 hours considered to be one of the most arduous in the world for man and machine A challenge similar to that of the Transam Euro, made to last the course…
